Imaging Cardiologist Opportunity – Launceston, Tasmania
Charles Clinic Heart Care is a leading and rapidly expanding cardiology group with locations in Launceston and Burnie, Tasmania. We provide high-quality, comprehensive cardiac care through a dedicated and supportive team of five in-house cardiologists and five visiting specialists.
Currently, we care for over 70,000 patients and deliver more than 40,000 services annually. Alongside our cardiology services, our clinic supports a range of non-cardiology specialists, offering modern consulting rooms and exceptional administrative support.
We are seeking a pleasant, caring, and experienced Imaging Cardiologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will work effectively within a collaborative environment and possess the judgment and skill set to practice confidently.
We provide a full range of high-quality cardiology services to the north and north-west of Tasmania as well as a nationally recognised outreach service to isolated communities. The team at Charles Clinic currently consists of 10 full and part-time cardiologists. We have an outstanding technical department operating state of the art imaging equipment. You will have access to the new North West Private Hospital Cath Lab and the Calvary St Vincent’s Cath Lab.

Requirements:
- Eligible for registration with AHPRA (Medical Board of Australia)
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP) in Cardiology
- Proven imaging cardiology experience and the ability to work independently

Position: Locum Consulting Cardiologist
Location: Launceston, Tasmania
Summary:
Charles Clinic is the largest private cardiology service in Tasmania and is seeking a cardiologist to join our dedicated team. We provide a full range of high-quality cardiology services to the north and north-west of Tasmania as well as a nationally recognised service to isolated communities.
The team at Charles Clinic currently consists of 10 full and part-time cardiologists and specialists. We have an outstanding technical department of 10 echo-sonographers and technicians operating state of the art imaging equipment.
We are looking for locum placements to support our resident Cardiologists in the servicing of our patients from the North, North West and North East of Tasmania.
Required Skills:
Applicants must be registered as a medical practitioner with AHPRA including specialist recognition as a cardiologist.
Remuneration:
Charles Clinic will remunerate at the rate of $2,500.00 per day + GST and provide accommodation and flights.

Cardiac Sonographer

Charles Clinic Heart Care, established in 2010, has rapidly grown to become a nationally recognised centre of excellence offering comprehensive cardiac services to the North and North West Tasmanian community.
We are a busy Clinic with Clinics in Launceston and Burnie. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, patient-focused environment with modern equipment and collaborative, professional team. You will be an integral part of our patient focused team.
Employee wellbeing – caring for our sonographers
- We highly value our sonographers and are genuinely interested in the welfare of our staff.
- One hour time slots are scheduled for all Echo studies with a maximum 8 echos per day.
- Massage is provided on a regular basis to help avoid injury.
- A variety of work can be offered.
- A mixture of studies and interesting pathology provides for a diverse working environment.
- No on call or out of hours work
- Flexible hours considered
Key responsibilities:
- Independently perform high quality echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms.
- Experience in GLS, CRT, 3-D, and adult congenital echo would be an advantage but not essential
- Independently complete comprehensive echocardiographic reports considering all clinical measurements and current ASE guidelines.
- Assist with transoesophageal echo, ECGs, holter monitors.
- Involvement in regular regional clinics in Northern Tasmania.
About you:
- Considerable clinical experience in echocardiography and cardiac testing
- Outstanding diagnostic and analytical skills
- Clear patient focused care providing patient comfort, confidentiality and empathetic care during all procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong collaborative teamwork skills and work ethic
- An ability to analyse Holter would be viewed favourably, but is not essential.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- ASAR Accreditation in Cardiac Ultrasound
- Criminal record check prior to commencement of employment
- Registered under Working with Vulnerable People Act
- Up to date Immunisation status (COVID, Hep B, influenza etc.)
- Current driver’s licence
